While I was born in a slightly bigger town, a house fire when I was in the third grade had us moving to an even smaller town. I could write out the name, but I seriously doubt you know it exists. Okay, it's Shade Gap. I'll give you a free prize if you knew it without googling it.
I love to pick on where I grew up, but I tend to think being out in the middle of nowhere sort of formed my love in art. When you live in a town without a stoplight, you tend to find something to do at home. I always had a love of art, but I think the isolation helped strengthen that love.
As much as I enjoyed Shade Gap, I knew I had to venture forth and find a school to pursue my future career in the art field. I found myself drawn to York,PA and the Bradley Academy For the Visual Arts, which eventually became The Art Institute of York.
I fell in love with York going to school here so much that I ended up coming back to get a second degree. Once I finished my second degree, I knew I wanted to stick around in this quirky city, so I found work in the area and have loved it for almost fourteen years.
